So when a man is 25, his choices are those below 25 (of course there should be a lower limit of say, 18 years old?). When he reaches 30, 5 more years are added to the age range. However, for women, the reverse is true. Not as many women marry younger men so when a woman gets older, the age range of guys she can date shrinks. When she is 25, she can choose anybody from 25 years upwards. When she hits 30, it is from 30 years upwards. But how much upwards can she go? Most eligible men are married by the time they reach 40. | Ex-X member TAIJI died in Saipan
Ex-X's bassist, TAIJI (Sawada Taiji), 45 years old, died today, July 17th. While travelling on Delta Flight 298 from Japan to Saipan on July 11th, Sawada was arrested by Saipan's local police for knocking on the aircraft windows, kicking an air-stewardess, etc. While in the detention centre, he used a sheet to hang himself on July 14th and was sent to a local hospital's intensive care unit (ICU). Sawada official joined X in 1986 and left in 1992. After that, he continued activities with bands such as LOUDNESS, D.T.R., TAIJI with HEAVEN'S. On August 14th and 15th in 2010, he joined X Japan's Nissan Stadium 2DAYS as a guest. | Shibasaki Kou isn't exactly the best singer in the world but somehow whenever I hear this song, I am moved in some way. That is the beauty of her singing. She moves the heart, not with superb vocal techniques nor fanciful music arrangements, but with her heart and soul.

| "Byakuyakou" or "Journey Under the Midnight Sun" is a drama based on a novel by the same time written by Higashino Keigo. He is also the author of "Galileo" and "Suspect X".
I finally watched this drama, after putting it off for a few years. Main reason was that I don't really like Ayase Haruka but the story eventually drew me to it.
Simple synopsis is that at both Kirihara Ryoji (Yamada Takayuki) and Nishimoto Yukiho (Ayase Haruka) come from messed up families. As a result, neither smiled till they met each other. However, a murder tore them apart and forced them to live in darkness. In order to hide the truth, both of them lived in lies.
Many people have called this a dark, twisted story. But for me it is yet another representation of how the mistakes of one generation affects the next. Of course, the two of them could have chosen to do what is right. But they were only 11 and their supposed role models were not exactly good role models. Left to fend for themselves, what else would they have done to protect themselves and each other? If I were in the same situation, what would I have chosen to do? Or have I been brought up in a sheltered home and turned out like Yukiho's high school friend, Eriko, a pure, maybe naive and straightforward girl?
To do what is right but lose what you desire or do what is wrong to obtain your desire. Which would you choose? | |
